The 25th Pawsitive Prison Dog Training Program session has ended - everyone graduated!
The 25th group of dogs graduated from Airway Heights Corrections Center on Nov. 20. Eight dogs lived with incarcerated individuals at the corrections center day and night, and they received training from volunteer dog trainers from Spokane's Diamonds in the Ruff. We are happy to report that all dogs have been adopted - yay! The Spokane Humane Society provides the dogs, their veterinary care and vaccinations, some of their food, treats, toys and bones. Donations are welcome in support of the program and can be made in person or by check to Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana Street, Spokane, WA 99217

This is Oden - a 1.5 year old male hound/shepherd mix
Oden is a big handful of dog. He's 58 lbs of gangly adolescent hound full of energy without quite realizing how big and strong he is. He loves toys and the wading pool, and he didn't seem very interested in the cat he met.
This is Elsa - a 7 year old female terrier mix
Elsa has bounced around quite a bit from home to home. She is friendly, outgoing and a very social dog who's good with cats. Her last owner said she was also good with children, and that she loves car rides.
This is Dundee - a 1.5 year old female heeler mix
Don't fall in love with this sweet heeler mix - her adoption is pending already. She's sweet, funny and eager to please, so it's understandable why someone just snatched her up.
This is Lucky - a 3.5 year old male Labrador/shepherd mix
Lucky wins the category "best snaggle tooth" - he's also a social and friendly dog who's eager to please his masters. At 65 lbs he's the biggest of the bunch this time around.
This is Copper - a 2 year old male hound mix
Copper is very active and athletic - true to his breed - and he's another dog who would do very well with a job to go to every day. He's a little skittish and cautious, but is learning to trust people. He met a cat and didn't seem to care much.
This is Dottie a 7 months old female hound
Dottie is just a big puppy and she's full of energy and curiosity. She jumps around a lot and loves to play with any and all toys. She'd probably make someone an excellent running mate.
This is Searcy - a 2 year old female Labrador/doberman mix
Searcy is 50 lbs of sweetness. She loves everyone and likes her toys. She is curious and very sweet, and she loves to learn. Her love for everyone does NOT include cats... or small dogs.
