fees

Adoption fees make sure we can provide medical care, food, and shelter to the animals in our care. When you adopt from the Spokane Humane Society, you are receiving more than $315 worth of services included in your dog’s adoption fee and more than $235 included in your cat’s adoption fee.

Our most popular pets have higher adoption fees in order to support animals in our care that need specialized medical care or training in order to find a loving home.

how to adopt

STEP 1 Browse our pets online. If you find a pet you are interested in online, great! Make sure you view that animal’s profile and check which site they can be found at.

STEP 2 Visit the shelter. Pay the animal a visit at the indicated adoption site. Our animal shelter is open Monday–Friday 11–6 and Saturday–Sunday 11–5. We recommend that you and any family members spend some time at the shelter, making sure you and your future pet are a perfect match. Please note that adoption services at the main shelter stop half an hour prior to closing.

STEP 3 Bring your animal home. Virtually all of our animals are ready to go home the same day as the adoption, so you could have a new best friend today! Adoptions come with a 30-day ShelterCare health insurance policy, and most veterinarians in the Spokane area will provide a complimentary wellness exam following the adoption.
